Summer may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean the fun is over! Whether you are a bar or lounge person or not, we all have one thing in common. We all love music. Music can make an evening sublime and take it to a whole new level. For those dreading the fall, I guarantee if you make seeing some good music a priority the season will not be lost. As a person with some musician friends, I too love the occasional concert from both known and unknown acts. But the question is…where to go for good food and music. You may recall a place I went to a bit ago called Blue Moon Cafe. What you may not recall is that they have a spectacular fall line up for music, as well as some new food additions to sink your teeth into. So let’s talk about my two favorite topics: Food and Music!

Blue Moon Cafe currently has three locations in Jersey: Englewood, Wyckoff, and Woodcliff Lake as well as one location in New York. Most are an easy commute, and you won’t have much of a struggle getting there. If you are planning on drinking, just remember to have an Uber on call. Upon my last visit to Blue Moon in Woodcliff Lake, it was very laid back, and chill. The decor gave me a cantina sort of vibe, and the guests that were seated all had smiles on their faces. To see a restaurant that’s so involved with their customers and community it was very refreshing indeed! One thing that made Blue Moon stand out for me was their tequila. Each Blue Moon Mexican Cafe location has something that it brings to the table, one thing is for sure though, it’s never short on tequila options! You have your choice:

Blanco, Silver, or Plata – Which is unnaged and bottled immediately after distillation, or aged less than 2 months in stainless steel or oak barrels. Brands to pick from include:

Lunazul, Patron, Hornitos, Don Julio, Herradura, 1800, Milagro, Cabo Wabo, Casamigos, Clase Azul.

Reposado – Which is aged a minimum of two months, but less than a year in oak barrels of any size. Brands to pick from include: Lunazul, Patron, Hornitos, Sauza Blue, Don Julio, 1800, Cabo Wabo, Milagro, Herradura, Casamigos, Clase Azul.

Anejo – Which is aged a minimum of one year, but less than three years in small oak barrels. Brands to pick from include: Lunazul, Don Julio, Patron, Herradura, Hornitos Black Barrel, Casamigos.

Extra or Super Anejo: Which is aged over three years in small oak barrels. Brands to pick from include: Cuervo Reserve, Don Julio, 1942.

Other options include Cuervo Gold, Patron XO, Patron Incindiary, and 1800 Coconut.

With so many picks to choose from, I didn’t even know where to begin! Lucky for me, Blue Moon’s staff is more than equipped to point you in the right direction since they provide training to their employees upon hiring. This ensures you not only the best dining experience, but a safe experience as well. Now let’s talk events!

There are plenty of events coming to the Blue Moon Cafe this fall in both Jersey and New York locations. On 10/17 come celebrate 24 years at the Blue Moon Englewood location. This will include free appetizer buffet during Fiesta Hour from 4pm – 7pm, and a visit from NYCFC player at 6:30pm. 90’s DJ night in November, Patron Social Tequila Tasting Thursday, 11/14, where you can enjoy a flight of Patrol Silver, Reposado, Anejo, and Extra Anejo with XO Cafe for dessert while sampling some of Blue Moon’s Delicious Appetizers. It’s $40 per person, and don’t forget to call for your reservations! Blue Moon’s Boozy Brunch, where you now have an excuse to have a margarita for breakfast. They also are offering great pitcher prices, (Margaritas, Bloody Marys and Champagne) along with a bunch of new menu items and music in Englewood and Wyckoff after Football. Interested? It will be every Sunday from 11am to 3pm with Live Music from 11:30am to 2:30pm. I had a chance to look at some of the new menu items and let me tell you folks, if you are a foodie like myself, this is something you will not want to miss! Dueling Pianos is also coming to a Blue Moon location near you on 10/26, 11/23, and 12/28. Now let’s talk music line up!

Be sure to get there early for a seat, and enjoy the drinks, food, and awesome entertainment coming your way. Some events coming include: Union Dogs, Lip Service Karaoke, Ace of Spades, Shawn Taylor, Fuego Friday with DJ Skinz, Monday Knights, Higher Expectations, Nelson Riveros, DJ Pinnacle, Blue Collar Band, The Christopher Dean Band, Chris Zurich, DJ Alx, The Suburbans, Nobody’s Fool, Treble, Rated R Band, Rev2Go, Bonnerville, Nick Barilla, Gary Reed Trio, Relapse, Danger Days, No Time Lost, Mad Tea Party Band, and finally… Vera and the Force.
